I bought a droid 2 from my friend but its locked. There is no slot for the sim card what do I do? Is there some kind of way that I can do it at home. Also I would want to program it to work on Metro PCS.

Answer:

If it is your friend he should have unlocked it for you, you can reset it to factory settings. If there is no slot for a sim card it means it is programmed for a CMDA network, which certain networks run on such as Sprint.

I’m going to buy an iPad soon and I’m deciding whether or not I should get an iPhone in May, when my contract with Sprint is up. The other phone I’m deeply considering is the Samsung Galaxy S II Epic 4G Touch. Is there any cool benefits with the integration of the two like how the pad by Blackberry tells you someone is calling on your Blackberry phone. Am I missing out if I skip on the iPhone?

Yeah u should be fine. I have the Nook plug in my outlet and I switchout between my iPhone and Nook depending what needs to be charged (just plug in appropriate usb cable) When my cat chewed up my cord and I had a book to download I used a Droid USB.

I know it is Gingerbread Android out of the box, but will I be able to update to the latest/upcoming OS? Sorry total smartphone newbie here.

1) Samsung makes ICS 4.x for it
and 2) Tmobile tweaks Samsung’s ICS stock ROM for their own purposes…

once 1 and 2 have been met, then you will get stock ROM ICS 4.x……. since Samsung is currently busy with the GS2s and Note and Gnexus for ICS updates, I say you should have ICS by Christmas 2012, if not Halloween or labor Day…. I be surprised if its sooner

OR… root it and get a custom ICS ROM… but since this phone just released last week, give it another 2-4 weeks before a geek makes a ICS ROM for it

I have a Samsung vibrant and when I go to system update it says “no firmware”. How do I update to a 2.2 or higher?

Answer:

It is an update that has to be performed via PC to USB. There are instructions on T-mobile’s website.

Also check your settings. If it says no update, then there is none.

Draw something is another one of those addictive Smartphone Games. It is available for Android and the ioS operating systems.

Draw Something will bring back memories for some of us older game players of the tv show Win, Lose or Draw.
You get a choice of 3 words to try to draw and the harder the word is to draw the more coins you receive if your partner guesses it. One of my favorite things to do is watch the other person draw there picture out, it shows what they do from beginning to end whether they erase it or not. I would highly suggest this game if you are looking for another fun time consuming game to play!

I just bought a Samsung Exhibit ii 4g phone. I’m trying to add videos and movies from my old phone onto this phone. But my computer says it can not find a driver for it. It tells me to insert the cd that came with it. There was no cd in the box. What can I do to fix this?

First, you have to make sure that the physical connection is working. When the phone is plugged in, look for a USB icon on that row of icons at the top of the phone’s screen.

If you find it, you can skip the next three paragraphs.

If the icon doesn’t appear, check to make sure the USB cable is properly inserted on both ends. Unplug and replug it. If that doesn’t help, try another USB port. Or maybe another computer.
